New River Community and Technical College Foundation awards scholarships to new and current students, and graduating seniors from high schools in the college’s nine county service region. We expect to award in excess of $50,000 during the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters. Students must attend classes at one of the college’s five (Greenbrier Valley, Mercer, Nicholas, Raleigh, and Advanced Technology Center-Ghent) campus locations. Some scholarships have residency requirements and/or additional information required to complete the application process. This information is included in the scholarship description.
Additional information about the scholarship requirements are available in the Student Success Center and Student Services Office on each New River campus and at the guidance counselors’ office at high schools in the service region.
The mission of the Foundation is to secure financial resources that complement New River Community and Technical College’s efforts in providing higher education and enhanced workplace skills, to optimize student access to educational programs and services, and to provide a margin of excellence unavailable with state and federal funds.
