The Babe and Sidney Louis Hyatt Scholarship was established for students who share the Hyatt brothers’ interests, which included agriculture, business, religious fidelity, reading, respect for family and community traditions, and self-improvement.
Criteria for Selection
- Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students taking at least 12 semester hours.
- The student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- High School seniors, adult students, and GED holders are invited to apply.
- Honoring the Jewish faith was important to the Hyatt brothers and the notions of righteousness they valued; therefore, applicants must read about the Jewish folklore of the “Thirty-Six Hidden Saints” and submit an original 500-word, typed essay describing someone they know whose life reminds them of these saints.
