The Babe and Sidney Louis Hyatt Scholarship was established for students who share the Hyatt brothers’ interests, which included agriculture, business, religious fidelity, reading, respect for family and community traditions, and self-improvement.
Criteria for Selection
- Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students taking at least 12 semester hours.
- The student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- High School seniors, adult students, and GED holders are invited to apply.
Essay Requirement
- “Tzedakah” is the Hebrew word for acts of charity. Like the Hyatt brothers, most Jews carry out tzedakah by donating to charitable institutions or needy people. Write an essay that discusses why it is important to be charitable. Include examples of charitable people who have served as role models for you and ways in which you try to help others
